Upcoming area blood drives

The American Red Cross encourages people to help meet the urgent need for blood and platelets by resolving to give blood this January, which is National Blood Donor Month.

The Red Cross encourages eligible donors to resolve to give blood or platelets regularly, beginning in January. 

Make an appointment to donate blood or platelets by downloading the free American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

 Blood drives are being held on the following dates:

• Jan. 14 1 to 6 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 535 20th Ave. N., South St. Paul

• Jan. 17, 1:30 to 7:30 p.m., Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Ave. E., Inver Grove Heights

•  Jan. 20, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Beth Jacob Congregation, 1179 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights

• Jan. 21, 2 to 8 p.m., Church of St Joseph, 1154 Seminole Ave., West St. Paul

• Jan. 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 700 Wesley Lane, Mendota Heights
