My Refuge is Humanity community event

My Refuge is Humanity: Series 2 is a free, community event taking place Saturday, Nov. 3 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. featuring music and poetry that celebrates immigrants and refugees in Minnesota. The event will feature spoken word, and poetry by Ifrah Mansour, performances by Kalpulli Yaocenoxtli, Marcus Kar and The Quiet Resistance, Sansei Yonsei Kai. Universal Dance Destiny, Oromia Youth Association. Music and choral performances by the Justice Choir led by conductor Ahmed Anzaldua. Mayor Melvin Carter and other elected officials are invited. Swede Hollow Tour

Lower Phalen Creek Project is hosting a tour of Swede Hollow Park on Monday, Oct. 29 from 5: to 6:30 p.m. Learn from a local indigenous interpreter about the deep history of the area, discuss how we can make the park even more vibrant, and finally, enjoy a free meal together. Participants should meet at the Hope Community Academy parking lot and walk from there. Free to attend, all ages.
