Where to find archived newspaper articles

Q. How would I find archived St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper articles from the 1970s?

A. Our Ramsey County Library offers digital online archives of the “Pioneer Press” back to 1987. For articles from before that year, you will need to seek out libraries which still maintain microfilm records of earlier newspapers. Both the Saint Paul Public Library and the Minnesota History Center Newspaper Library have newspapers on microfilm, but the History Center’s Newspaper Collection in downtown Saint Paul is particularly extensive. You can find more information on their website at http://sites.mnhs.org/library/content/newspaper-collection

Do you have a question for the staff at the Roseville Library? You can call them at 651-724-6001 or ask your question in person at the Information Desk, Roseville Library, 2180 Hamline Ave. Library hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
