NEWSBRIEF: Deadline for vendors for Washington County’s Christmas at the Courthouse extended

Those interested in applying to become vendors for the 26th annual Christmas at the Historic Courthouse Nov. 16-18 have a little bit more time to apply. The deadline for those applications has been extended to Sept. 10.

This event is a fundraiser for the Historic Courthouse restoration fund and kicks off Stillwater’s “Hometown for the Holidays” Christmas festivities in downtown Stillwater.

The courthouse will be decorated in holiday spirit and will offer two unique experiences to participating guests. Friday night is the gala, which is a special evening of shopping, light hors d’oeuvres, desserts, live music, door prizes and local beer/wine and cider sampling.

The Courthouse opens up to the public for free entry Saturday and Sunday, and hosts a holiday bake shop selling light lunch fare, beverages and baked goods. There will also be Santa visits, live entertainment and jail and exhibit tours. Almost 2,000 people attended the event over the weekend in 2017.

The building has Wi-Fi and is ADA accessible. Due to the unique character and architecture of the building, booth spaces are not all rectangular and may contain angles or unusual features requiring vendors to be flexible with their design and set-up.

This is a juried event; approximately 30 vendors are accepted each year. Unique, handcrafted and local items at a variety of price points are especially welcome. To be eligible, submit the vendor application found at, check, and a sample of the product for review by Sept. 10. Incomplete applications will not be considered by the jury.
