Arden Hills

Baby formula boosters

The evening of June 3 a group of two women and a man who had a small child with them, who are known for stealing baby formula from six different metro Cub Foods stores, were seen at the Cub in the 3700 block of Lexington Avenue. Security at the store called the sheriff’s office to get deputies to help block the store’s doors, but the group escaped with $800 worth of stolen formula.

 

Garage burglary

A 58-year-old man told police May 30 that someone got into his unlocked garage in the 3600 block of Cleveland Avenue and stole a $300 miter saw and a $900 torch sometime the afternoon of May 17.

 

Lock the car

A 20-year-old Sioux Falls man told police June 1 that someone stole his $350 golf clubs out of his unlocked car as it was parked in the 1100 block of County Road E sometime between May 26 and May 29.

 

Theft

Employees at the Walgreens in the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue told police June 5 that a woman stole some $300 worth of merchandise, including soap and clothing.

 

Falcon Heights

How to lose a car

A 41-year-old man called the police the morning of May 31 to report the theft of his car from the 1400 block of Larpenteur Avenue. The vehicle, a 2002 Oldsmobile sedan, had been left unlocked with its key in the center console, and was stolen sometime overnight. It turned up in Minneapolis the same day it was reported stolen.

 

Lauderdale

Restraining order

A 40-year-old man who lives in the 1700 block of Malvern Street told police May 25 that his neighbor, a 54-year-old man, had violated a harassment restraining order by throwing items at the younger man’s car. The 40-year-old provided a statement and video footage of the act. Based on previous violations of the order, police turned the case over to the Ramsey County Attorney for possible felony charges.

 

Little Canada

Lock the car, always

A 36-year-old man told police June 4 that someone had gotten into his unlocked car as it was parked in the 400 block of Labore Road in the five or so days prior and stolen papers that included his Social Security number and banking information.

 

Shooting?

In the early morning hours of June 3, just prior to bar close, multiple reports of shots fired came out of the area of the 400 block of Labore Road. A bit later, a 19-year-old man who’d been shot in the forearm was dropped off by a friend at a hospital. He told police he was shot as he was walking to the gas station in that area — a car pulled up and someone fired at him. Police checked the area but found no evidence — blood droplets, bullet casings — of a shooting.

 

Thief team

A 56-year-old woman distracted employees at the CVS in the 2600 block of Rice Street the night of June 3 while a man stole multiple items. Both left in the same vehicle and security cameras caught its license plate number. The woman appeared to be the owner of the car, so she was mailed a misdemeanor theft citation.

 

Mounds View

Disorderly conduct

Someone called the police in the early morning hours of June 2 to report a man walking the 2400 block of Mounds View Boulevard hitting car windows — he was identified as a 28-year-old Mounds View man and was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct.

 

Minor consumption

Officers headed to the intersection of Knollwood Drive and County Road H2 the night of May 27 on a disorderly conduct report and ended up arresting and citing an 18-year-old Fridley man and a 17-year-old boy for underage consumption of alcohol.

 

Slashed tires

A person who lives in an apartment in the 5400 block of Jackson Drive told police May 27 that someone slashed the front tires of their car.

 

New Brighton

Gas and go

Summer gas pricing makes for more costly drive-offs. Someone stole $74.05 worth of petrol just after midnight June 4 from the Circle K in the 200 block of County Road E2.

 

Lifted license plate

Someone stole a dealer license plate off a car that was parked at the LA Fitness in the 1100 block of Silver Lake Road on June 6.

 

Shoreview

Bird!

A deputy and animal control officer headed to Island Lake Elementary School in the 3500 block of Victoria Street June 5 to deal with a swallow that was flying around the cafeteria. They managed to get it to fly out an open door.

 

Bug theft

Someone stole a 68-year-old man’s Volkswagen Bug convertible from the auto shop in he 400 block of Highway 96, which he’d dropped off there with the key, just after closing time June 4. The car was found in Shoreview the next day.

 

St. Anthony

DWI

Police arrested a 19-year-old Columbia Heights man May 21 at 35th Avenue and Stinson Boulevard for driving while intoxicated. He blew a .17 blood alcohol concentration and was booked at the Hennepin County Jail for fifth-degree drug possession — marijuana — third-degree DWI, driving with a revoked license and no proof of insurance.

 

A 19-year-old intoxicated driver crashed his car into a yard in the 3300 block of Edgemere Avenue May 22 — the homeowner called the police. The 19-year-old was booked at the Hennepin County Jail for fourth-degree DWI for having blown a blood alcohol concentration of .10, and no proof of insurance.

 

Gravesite robber

An employee at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in the 2500 block of St. Anthony Boulevard told police May 21 that several vases from gravesites had been stolen, totaling a loss of at least $4,500.

 

Lost and found

A 72-year-old man who lives at apartments in the 2500 block of 38th Avenue told police May 21 that someone had rummaged through his car and stolen gift cards to various restaurants, including Perkins, Chili’s and Outback Steakhouse. Police found a phone that belonged to someone else in the man’s car. Minneapolis police called St. Anthony PD to say they’d arrested a 20-year-old man who had the 72-year-old’s credit card in his possession. The older man checked his account and found four unauthorized charges for $810.94 — he said he’d been unaware the card had been stolen.

A caller told police they’d found three license plates in the street May 24 in the 3400 block of Silver Lane; two of the plates, a set, came up stolen out of White Bear Lake, while the other was stolen out of New Brighton.

 

Stolen trailer

Employees at a business in the 3800 block of Foss Road told police May 23 that a trailer worth $4,500 was stolen from the business sometime overnight.

 

Suspicious person

Police were called to the Cub Foods in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road May 23 on a report of a suspicious person and picked up a 30-year-old man who was quite intoxicated, having registered a .237 blood alcohol concentration. He was handed off to a family member.

 

Theft

Employees at the Cub Foods in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road told police May 25 a man had left the store with a cart full of $242.81 of merchandise that he had not paid. When the man was confronted, he ditched the cart and left in a waiting vehicle. Police checked security footage and identified the man as a 28-year-old — the case is pending further investigation.
