Oakdale Garden Club plant sale

The Oakdale Garden Club will be hosting a plant sale Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eberle Park, 3800 Hadley Ave. N., Oakdale. The club will be selling perennials, native plants, vegetables, house plants and miscellaneous garden items. The garden club prefers to have items paid for in cash. There will be no early sales.

 

Let’s make stuff: heart-folded book

Create your very own piece of artwork Thursday, May 3, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Oakdale Library, 1010 Heron Ave. N. This class will teach you how to transform an ordinary book into a unique handmade home decoration or gift, just in time for Mother’s Day. Clay trolls with Abrakadoodle

Do you have a favorite troll? Do you love to make things with clay? During this class at Lake Elmo Library participants will be creating a funny troll. The group will read a story about trolls and learn about color mixing and sculpting. Come to the library, 3537 Lake Elmo Ave. N., Saturday, May 5, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. to explore your imagination. No registration is required.

 

STEM Saturdays: mixing molecules with The WORKS

This month, participants will learn which combinations of chemicals will make the best slimy polymer through experimentation and observation. Participants will then create a batch of glow-in-the-dark slime to take home. This event will be held Saturday, May 12, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Oakdale Library, 1010 Heron Ave. and is recommended for children ages 8 to 12, but participants must be between ages 6 and 12 to attend. Maplewood North Lions plant sale

The Maplewood North Lions is once again hosting its annual plant sale. The sale will be held at the corner of Upper 51st Street and Century Avenue in Oakdale. This year the sale will be open May 11 and 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. and May 12, 13, 19 and 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
