Under pressure

A 51-year-old man reported April 11 the theft of his pressure washer from his truck as it was parked in the 4000 block of Lexington Avenue. The washer, worth $2,200, had been locked with a cable in the back of the pickup truck, but the cable had been cut.

Lauderdale

10 warrants!

A 34-year-old woman stopped at Larpenteur Avenue and Highway 280 April 2 was arrested and booked at the Ramsey County Jail for an outstanding Washington County traffic violation warrant along with nine other warrants out of Ramsey County.

 

Always lock the car

To quote the April 5 police report from the 1600 block of Eustis Street: “35-year-old male reported that he left his vehicle unlocked overnight. He further advised that the ignition was damaged and no key was needed. When he returned to the vehicle, he discovered it [had] been stolen.” The car was worth $550.

 

Not far from home

Officers showed up to the 1600 block of Fulham Street April 7 on a report of a abandoned vehicle — the person who called the cops said it had been there for three days. When they looked into things, the officers found the car had been stolen from just a few blocks away. They called the owner to come get the car.

 

Stolen tabs

A 24-year-old woman told police April 6 that while her car was parked in the 1600 block of Carl Street someone stole her license plate tabs, which were entered into the computer as stolen.

 

Viscious cycle

A 26-year-old woman was arrested April 8 in the 2400 block of Larpenteur Avenue and booked at the Ramsey County Jail for giving false information to police, as well as for an outstanding Stearns County warrant for giving false information to police.


 

Little Canada

Don’t do this to the kid

Administrators at Little Canada Elementary School, located in the 400 block of Eli Road, called the sheriff’s department April 11 after a kindergartner came to school with a backpack that smelled skunky — the student revealed it contained a half-pound of marijuana. The student was placed with Child Protective Services.

 

High priority mail

A 60-year-old woman who lives in the 300 block of Eli Road reported April 14 that she received a package containing marijuana sent from Fresno, California.

 

Rage against the machine

A 27-year-old man told police April 16 that someone had broken into his vending machine that’s located in the first block of Demont Avenue, completely wrecking the machine in the process. All said, he’s out roughly $1,500.


 

Mounds View

Drunk driving accident

A 56-year-old Mounds View man was arrested for third-degree DWI and inattentive driving April 14 after officers responded to an afternoon report of a property damage accident in the area of Mounds View Boulevard and County Road H2.

 

Stolen vehicle

A tan, 2006 Toyota Highlander was reported as stolen April 13 from behind the Pink Flower in the 2500 block of Mounds View Boulevard.

 

Wrong driveway DWI

Officers headed to the 8200 block of Spring Lake Road in the early morning hours of April 8 because of an unknown car parked in someone’s driveway. The driver of the car, a 55-year-old Mounds View man whose address did not match the place he was parked, was arrested and booked for second-degree DWI test refusal and third-degree DWI.


 

New Brighton

Stolen tools

A 40-year-old man reported April 18 the theft of $4,500 worth of tools, including a circular saw, hammer drill and other power tools, from his unlocked work van as it was parked in the 1900 block of Rice Creek Road the day prior.

 

Tax return theft

A 47-year-old man is out $1,000 after someone stole his tax return check from the IRS out of his mailbox located in the 3100 block of 18th Street NW as reported April 17.

 

‘They taking my boy’

Late April 12 an officer saw a motorcyclist speed by him at 82 miles per hour in a 35 mile-per-hour zone near Mississippi Street and Silver Lake Road. The officer tried to stop the man on the bike but didn’t chase in the interest of public safety. The biker turned up in the area of Sunny Terrace and Rainbow Lane in the early hours of April 13, and an officer successfully stopped him. The motorcyclist turned out to be an 18-year-old man who was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a pipe. As officers proceeded to arrest the 18-year-old for fleeing police in a motor vehicle, a man walked up to the scene. As he was told to leave or face arrest, a car drove up and stopped; the first man yelled, “They taking my boy,” and cried. He then got into the stopped car. It drove off.


 

Shoreview

Stolen ring?

A 29-year-old man called the sheriff’s office April 13 saying he wants the wedding ring back from his ex-wife, reporting the family heirloom as stolen. He later called back to say the ring was lost.

 

Thefts and related?

The afternoon of April 12 a 50-year-old woman reported her house and car keys as stolen from her locker at the Shoreview Community Center located in the 4500 block of Victoria Street; later that same day a couple reported their credit cards as stolen from a locker at the center. Around 10 p.m., a 33-year-old Blaine man and a 34-year-old Brooklyn Park woman were arrested for loitering in the center’s parking lot.


 

St. Anthony

Bar tab paid with meth?

Officers headed to the Village Pub in the 2700 block of Highway 88 April 3, a Tuesday, on a report of a customer leaving without paying his tab. The man did leave a baggie containing a white substance on a serving tray. Police checked the area and found the man, a 33-year-old. The substance in the baggie was tested and it turned out to be methamphetamine; the man was booked at the Hennepin County Jail for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and for misdemeanor theft.

 

Banned

Management at the Starbucks in the 3700 block of Silver Lane called the police April 4 on a 41-year-old man who was the source of multiple complaints. The man is banned from the coffee shop.

 

Criminal property damage

A 61-year-old woman reported continued damage to a gravesite April 6 in St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Cemetery, which is located in the 3000 block of Stinson Boulevard.

 

Drunk man

Police were called to the IBEW Union Hall in the 2900 block of Anthony Lane April 4 on a report of a drunk man and picked up a 37-year-old man who was checked by medics.

 

DWI

Police stopped a 26-year-old Columbia Heights woman April 7 at Stinson Boulevard and 37th Avenue and arrested her for third-degree DWI. She blew a .16 blood alcohol concentration and was booked at the Hennepin County Jail.

 

Scary scammer

The management of a senior housing complex contacted the police April 4 to report the continued haassment of an 89-year-old resident by a man who is trying to get $15,000 from the resident in a scam. The call from management was prompted because the scammer had called a locksmith and attempted to have the man’s locks changed; management stepped in before it could happen.

 

Theft

A 93-year-old resident at senior housing in the 3700 block of Chandler Drive told police $400 she’d placed in a cabinet had gone missing. Management said it would interview several staff members.
