LETTER: Come learn about how to fix the healthcare system

To the Editor:

Join community members on Thursday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m, at the Roseville Library, 2180 Hamline Ave. N., to view “Fix It: Healthcare at the Tipping Point,” a powerful documentary about our crumbling healthcare system that reaches across the political and ideological divide. This documentary takes an in-depth look into how our dysfunctional healthcare system is damaging our economy, suffocating our businesses, discouraging physicians and negatively impacting on the nation’s health, while remaining un-affordable for a third of our citizens.

Bring along friends who own or operate businesses — the film makes a business case for major healthcare reform. America’s healthcare providers are saddled with a huge administrative burden while trying to focus on patient care. “Fix It” provides a solution to America’s runaway healthcare costs. That solution is a single-payer system.

After the film, a short discussion will be facilitated by former Rep. Mindy Greiling. The film screening is hosted by Roseville Area Advocates for Minnesota Health Plan, and Health Care for All — Minnesota. If you are interested, check out Bill Moyers’ summary of Sen. John Marty’s work for universal healthcare for all:  http://billmoyers.com/story/health-care-doomed. You can download a free copy of Sen. Marty’s book, “Healing Health Care,” at: www.mnhealthplan.org.

Join me on March 8 for an informative evening and discussion led by Mindy Greiling!
