South St. Paul Mayor for the Day essay contest

Attention all fourth- through eighth-graders: are you interested in knowing what it would be like to be mayor of South St. Paul for a day? If you were mayor for the day, what would you do in South St. Paul? Here is your opportunity. Send Mayor Jimmy Francis a letter and tell him why you want to be the mayor of South St. Paul for a day and what you would do as the mayor.

Further instructions and letter forms are located at South St. Paul City Hall, 125 Third Ave. N., on the city’s website at www.southstpaul.org and have been distributed at the local schools. Letters are due back to city hall by Feb. 26.  The mayor will read all the letters and select one youth to be the 2018 South St. Paul Mayor for the Day on March 5.  The Mayor for the Day will receive a variety of prizes including dinner with the mayor, along with four friends, a private tour of city hall and an opportunity to help facilitate the March 5 city council meeting.
