Pizza fundraiser

On Thursday, March 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill- Ramsey County is having a fundraiser at Davanni’s Restaurant, 1905 West Perimeter Drive in Roseville. For those who attend, twenty percent of the dinner bill will go to NAMI - Ramsey County, but residents will need to state that they would like to support NAMI when they place their orders.  This is for dine-in and take-out only, not for delivery orders.  Proceeds go to recreational activities for the mentally ill in Ramsey County, and also for educational and outreach activities.


Paint with the masters: Georgia O’Keeffe and the American Modernists

Learn about art in a hands-on way in this class focused on the painting style of Georgia O’Keeffe. Through her art, Georgia O’Keeffe studied the physical makeup of natural and industrial objects and magnified them with a slight tendency towards abstraction. During this class, which will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Oakdale Library, prints of American Modernist works will be available for viewing and technique demonstrations performed by the instructor. Registration is required. Music and memory with Charlie Maguire

Charlie Maguire, a songwriter and performer with Prairie Home Companion, is offering a songwriting workshop to those with dementia and memory loss and their care partners. For persons with dementia and memory loss, music can be energizing and tap deep emotional recall. In this special workshop, Charlie will present songs written by those with dementia and then work with participants to collectively write a song. One workshop will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. March 8 at the Roseville Library and another workshop will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. April 5 at the Shoreview Library.
