Trouble just finds him

The night of Jan. 28, police attempted to stop a 25-year-old Forest Lake man who was speeding and driving erratically on westbound Interstate 694 at Silver Lake Road. The man wouldn’t pull over, and ended up exiting the highway at Central Avenue; he ended up driving into a fence and getting the car stuck in the snow on a dead-end street. The man got out and ran through backyards and a wooded area as officers followed close behind, by no more than 10 feet. Officers told the man to stop but he did not, and when the man appeared to reach for his waistband, an officer used a Taser on the man. The man fell forward and landed on his arm, which the officer could not see. The officer told the man to move his arm so he could see it, but, told twice, the man didn’t do so, so the officer used the Taser again. The man began to cooperate. On the walk back to the squad car, the man, presumably handcuffed and without prompting, told officers he had a quarter pound of marijuana in his car and that he was on probation. The man was booked at the Ramsey County jail for felony drug possession and fleeing police in a motor vehicle.
