LETTERS: Caucus for Dittberner

To the Editor:

I will proudly caucus for Geoff Dittberner at the DFL caucus on Tuesday, Feb. 6 to represent District 52B (Inver Grove Heights, Sunfish Lake, southern Mendota Heights and northern Eagan) in the Minnesota House. Geoff is a progressive who knows the district well — he lives in IGH about a mile from where he grew up.

Geoff is endorsed by AFSCME and Run for Something, a national organization that encourages young progressives to run for office.

Geoff has been active in the DFL and has worked on education issues at the legislature on a bipartisan basis. He has also agreed to campaign spending limits because he believes that grassroots activism is the road to public service.

I urge my neighbors to vote for a candidate who will represent us in the manner of Joe Atkins.

Leslie Martin, Mendota Heights

To the Editor:

Precinct caucuses are on Tuesday, Feb. 6, and I encourage my neighbors in District 52B (Inver Grove Heights, southern Mendota Heights, Sunfish Lake and northern Eagan) to support Geoff Dittberner for the DFL endorsement.

Geoff is a bright and energetic young parent and active community member. He has experience successfully advocating with legislators of both parties to address the rising cost of higher education, and he currently serves on the ISD 199 Advisory Council and Early Learning Advisory Council. His experience prepares him to be an effective legislator from day one.

I believe we need more young people like Geoff in public office who are deeply connected to our community. It’s that connection that will make him a great public servant, much like Joe Atkins was when he served in this office. Please join me in caucusing for Geoff on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. at your local precinct caucus.

Anita Martinez, Inver Grove Heights
