Town Hall with Rep. McCollum

U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum, who represents Minnesota’s Fourth Congressional District, will host a town hall meeting on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 7 to 8 p.m. at North High School, 2416 East 11th Ave, North St. Paul. The town hall is free and open to the public.

 

Help seniors with snow removal

East Side Elders, a local nonprofit that serves East Side seniors, is looking for volunteers to help clear snow for seniors to help keep them safe this winter. For those interested, one must be able to physically shovel snow, be able to travel to seniors’ homes either with their own vehicle or via public transportation, and must be able to pass a background check. Contact East Side Elders at 651-683-2413, via email at volunteer@eastsideelders.org, or by visiting the offices at 463 Maria Ave.

 

Anxiety Support Group 

NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) sponsors free support groups for persons with anxiety disorders. The groups help individuals develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. An Open Door Anxiety and Panic support group meets on the East Side of St. Paul from 6:30 to 8 p.m., on the first and third Thursday of the month, at Woodland Hills Church, 1740 Van Dyke St. For information, call NAMI at 651-645-2948.
