Arden Hills

Burglary

Police responded to an alarm sounding at a business in the 3700 block of Lexington Avenue the evening of Jan. 13 and found broken glass from the business’s front door, but nothing seemed to have been stolen.

 

Dog bites woman

An 18-year-old woman told police Jan. 10 she had to be treated for a dog bite she received while in the 1900 block of Todd Drive that same afternoon.

 

Theft

A 74-year-old woman who lives in an apartment in the 3700 block of Cleveland Avenue told police Jan. 13 someone had stolen a pair of $100 boots from by the front door of the place, as well as a $500 snow blower from the garage.


 

Falcon Heights

Cold dog

Deputies responded to the 1600 block of Garden Avenue the evening of Jan. 13 on a report of a dog left outside for hours, but when they got there the pup had been brought inside.

 

Dipping into the stash

Deputies noticed a stopped car on the side of the road near the intersection of Larpenteur Avenue and Coffman Street the night of Jan. 11, so they checked things out. The driver of the car, a 23-year-old Minneapolis man, smelled of marijuana and had blood shot eyes — upon searching the car police found 63 grams of weed, a scale, baggies and $600 cash. The man was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for felony possession of a controlled substance.


 

Lauderdale

Quiet times

The New Year started quietly in Lauderdale — between Jan. 1 and 7 there were six police reports, all for traffic stops. The most egregious offenses can be credited to a 21-year-old woman stopped Jan. 1 at Malvern and Ione streets who was arrested and cited for driving with a revoked license and having no insurance nor proof of insurance.


 

Little Canada

Smash and grabs

A man took a crowbar to the glass front door of the gas station in the 300 block of Little Canada Road the night of Jan. 14 and stole some $3,000 worth of cigarettes.

A man drove a car through a garage door at an audio equipment store in the 2700 block of Rice Street the evening of Jan. 14 and proceeded to steal $5,800 worth of merchandise. Police responded to an alarm tripped by the drive-through.

 

Stolen car, recovered

Deputies ran the plates on a 2015 Chevy Cruze as it tooled through the 100 block of Little Canada Road early in the morning of Jan. 14, finding it had been stolen out of St. Paul, so they pulled the car over. The driver, a 25-year-old St. Paul man, was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for felony possession of stolen property.


 

Mounds View

Boosted booze

A store in the 2500 block of Mounds View Boulevard reported the theft of $39.98 worth of liquor Jan. 11.

 

DWI

A 47-year-old Brooklyn Center man was stopped Jan 12 near the intersection of Mounds View Boulevard and Long Lake Road and arrested for first-degree DWI.

 

DWI, but with a pistol

A 44-year-old Brooklyn Center man was seen driving on the shoulder of Mounds View Boulevard near Quincy Street just after bar close time Jan. 13, so officers pulled him over. The man was arrested and booked at the Ramsey County Jail for first-degree DWI, DWI test refusal, driving with a canceled license and for carrying a pistol while under the influence of alcohol.

 

Parking lot accident

Police responded to a two-car accident in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Scotland Court Jan. 13. One of the people involved was minorly injured and one of the drivers, a 38-year-old Mounds View man, was cited for driving without insurance.

 

Stolen wood

A person who lives in the 5100 block of Long Lake Road told police Jan. 9 someone had stolen wood from their home.


 

New Brighton

Theft

A 41-year-old man told police Jan. 18 that someone stole two paint sprayers worth $1,200 along with an $80 shop vac from his place in the 1200 block of Piper Drive.

 

Robbery

A man robbed the Dairy Queen in the 400 block of Old Highway 8 the afternoon of Jan. 14 at gun point, making off with $100 cash.

 

Easy pickings

A 32-year-old woman told police her 1998 Isuzu Rodeo was stolen from the 900 block of County Road F the afternoon of Jan. 16 after she left it parked there, idling.


 

Shoreview

Easy pickings, too

A 25-year-old woman told police her 2012 Ford Focus was stolen from the 4000 block of Wilshire Circle the evening of Jan. 14 — it was unlocked and the car’s key was in the center console. St. Paul PD found the car three days later.

 

Imperiled bunny

A caller who lives in the 3300 block of Churchill Street told police Jan. 14 there was a rabbit stuck in one of their home’s window wells.

 

Known shoplifter

A man known for stealing things from the Trader Joe’s in the 1000 block of Red Fox Road stole half a cart’s worth of meat and flour from the grocery store as reported the morning of Jan. 12.


 

St. Anthony

Always lock the car

A 45-year-old man who lives in the 2700 block of 29th Avenue told police Jan. 4 that someone had rummaged through his unlocked car overnight, taking loose change from the center console. A 33-year-old man who lives in the 2500 block of West Armour Terrace told a similar story to police that same day — someone rummaged through his unlocked car — though no loss was reported.

 

Arrest

A 37-year-old man wanted for an outstanding misdemeanor traffic warrant out of Washington County was arrested while at the St. Anthony police station Jan. 4 and taken to the Hennepin County Jail to be booked for the warrant.

 

Boosted bottle

Employees at the municipal liquor store in the 2600 block of 39th Avenue told officers a trio of people stole merchandise from the store Jan. 2, and were able to provide a description of the car they left in, along with license plate number. Officers checked the area and found the car parked outside a residence — they went in and found the three people along with an open bottle of liquor. The officers destroyed the bottle, confirmed as stolen by security footage from the liquor store, which was worth $13.17. One of the three, a 26-year-old man, was mailed a citation for misdemeanor theft.

 

Tampering with a motor vehicle

A 60-year-old man told police Jan. 2 that someone had messed with his car as it was parked at apartments in the 2600 block of Kenzie Terrace — the lug nuts on his wheels had been removed and a carbon fiber gas access door had been stolen. The person or people also cut the car’s cables, damaged skirting around one of the doors and busted a taillight. Officers took photos of the damage and apartment management is planning to hand over security footage. The cost of the damage is unknown.
