Anxiety support group

NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) sponsors free support groups for persons with anxiety disorders. The groups help individuals develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. An Open Door Anxiety and Panic support group meets on the East Side of St. Paul from 6:30 to 8 p.m., on the first and third Thursday of the month, at Woodland Hills Church, 1740 Van Dyke St. For information, call NAMI at 651-645-2948.

Help seniors with snow shoveling

Help seniors on the East Side have a safer winter.  Volunteer to shovel snow so that seniors can have clear sidewalks and driveways.  This is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer with a work team, church group, school group, or other group to help seniors.  This is a flexible opportunity — help when you can as often as you can.  Individuals are also welcome to volunteer.

If you’re interested in helping out, you can apply online at eastsideelders.org or contact East Side Elders at Volunteer@EastSideElders.org or 651-683-2413 for any questions.  Please note that because East Side Elders serves a vulnerable population including seniors and people with disabilities, they are unable to serve as a site for court-ordered community service volunteers.
