LETTER: New coffee shop opens in Lake Elmo

To the Editor:

I just could not wait for the opening of the Lake Elmo Coffee Shop. I was there on Nov. 11 for the grand opening and the coffee shop was packed. I first met Susan, mother to owner Sarah Marshall, then her father Bill Lockwood, and Sarah.

The atmosphere is great, the soup was wonderful and the hospitality is pleasant and I get that “come back” feeling. So in four days, I have been there three times. I will be returning with my husband in the next few days.

On Nov. 13 I had a chance to meet and chat with Paul Marshall, the other owner and husband of Sarah. I complimented Paul on how good the soup tasted.

I will be a frequent customer, sometimes stopping in for a short visit or picking up coffee and a treat while on my way to another appointment.

The building is about 150 years old, so with some renovating it has turned into a place to meet friends, business associates or like me on my way somewhere.

As I was walking from my car, I noticed how nice the gardens are by the sidewalks. I also noticed the area outside of the coffee shop is a great place for food and conversation plus the opportunity to observe the flower beds, just what I love.

The Lake Elmo Coffee Shop is on Lake Elmo Avenue, so do stop by and try their delicious food. Maybe I will see you there.
