HH-2017: Inver Grove Heights holiday happenings

On Nov. 30, Inver Grove Heights kicks off its holiday events with a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. There will also be cake, refreshments, kids activity, music and open swim. The event is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Community Center, 8055 Barbara Ave.

There’ll be holiday VINGO on Dec. 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the community center. Vingo is easy to play, an exciting game that provides anticipation for the next clip, as players enjoy the best parts of their favorite songs. Open to all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adults. The cost is $5 in advance or $7 at the door. 

Santa is coming for breakfast to the community center on Dec. 9. Families will enjoy light breakfast, be able to make a craft, visit with Santa and participate in a toy raffle. To be eligible for the toy raffle, participants must bring a pair of mittens or gloves to donate. There are two sessions available: 8:30 to 10 a.m., and 10:30 to noon. The cost is $5 in advance or $7 at the door.

Santa visits the Veterans Memorial Community Center on skates on Dec. 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Register by Dec. 1

Come to Holiday Cookies and Canvas on Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. This is open to children ages 6 and up with an adult. The cost is $5 per person.
