Oakdale man slashed during robbery

An Oakdale man was cut with a knife, allegedly by a man who appeared outside the back entrance of his home demanding cash just after noon Oct. 25.

According to Oakdale officer Michelle Stark, the suspect allegedly took a small amount of money from the man and cut him during the robbery, though he never entered the man’s home or took any items from inside it. The robbery happened in the 7500 block of 22nd Street.

The Oakdale Police Department responded to the alleged aggravated robbery and Oakdale paramedics treated the 32-year-old resident’s injury on scene. He did not need to be transported to the hospital.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Woodbury Police Department and a Ramsey County K-9 unit helped Oakdale police search for the suspect, who, according to police, was wearing a gray hooded shirt, dark pants and a ski mask.

As of press time, the suspect had not been found though an investigation is ongoing. Police said there is no immediate threat to the public.
