Police investigate early morning homicide in South St. Paul

The South St. Paul Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place early Aug. 2.

According to a press release, officers responded to the 400 block of Camber Avenue around 3:15 a.m., on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located a man with traumatic injuries. 

The man was transported by medics from South Metro Fire and Health East to a local hospital via ambulance. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Witnesses at the scene reported suspects possibly fled in a vehicle prior to the arrival of officers. Officers from West St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights and Eagan assisted with searching for the suspects and processing the scene. 

The South St. Paul Police Department is investigating the death — ruled a homicide — with assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, West St. Paul Police Department and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
