Encountering God in the Kitchen

The Benedictine Center is offering a unique retreat called  he Monastic Kitchen: Making Food for the Body and Soul. It will be held Friday, Aug. 4, thru Sunday, Aug. 6. The $150 includes lodging and meals.

It will be led by Victoria FritzKapps, a professional chef and former restaurant owner, who is a Benedictine Oblate and current manager of the Kitchen in St. Paul Monastery s. Participants will pray together, cook together and reflect on ways to prepare food that nourishes both body and soul.

According to Sam Rahberg, director of the Center,  “Guests consistently compliment us on the food we serve here  not only because it is healthy and tastes so good, but because it helps them understand how Benedictine values can be infused into everyday tasks, even preparing meals for the family.”

It is limited to 12 participants. For more information, call 651-777-7251 or email: benedictinecenter@stpaulsmonastery.org. The Benedictine Center is a ministry of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Paul’s Monastery in Maplewood, located at 2675 Benet Road.
