St. Anthony PD investigating multiple overnight burglaries

St. Anthony police are investigating a cluster of residential burglaries that started on the north end of the city early in the the morning of Thursday, June 22.

According to a department release, around 3 a.m. officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 2800 block of Silver Lane. 

As they investigated, police determined four more burglaries happened in quick succession after the initial report from Silver Lane.

The additional burglary reports came from the 4000 block of Macalaster Drive, the 3300 block of Belden Drive, the 2700 block of 32nd Avenue and the 3400 block of Croft Drive, police said.

At the same time, according to the release, New Brighton police were getting similar reports in their city, and finding property related to a St. Anthony burglary.

In the burglaries, the person or people responsible stole cell phones, computers, purses, wallets and in some instances, cars, police said. Residents were in their homes when the burglaries occurred and some involved forced entry, while others did not.

Minneapolis police recovered a car stolen in one of the burglaries and arrested one juvenile male. The investigation continues.
