LETTER: Good start on deer

To the Editor:

I am very pleased by the comments of Norm Hanson regarding the unsuccessful attempt to curtail the deer population in Roseville (“Letters”  April 18 edition).

Our neighborhood continues to suffer the consequences of the abundant deer population. The damage done by them is not limited to our yards. Their destruction extends to the common forested areas around the natural ponds in the Owaaso Hills neighborhood.

Deer dash across our  roads and throughways daily.

Roseville continues to be a busy inner suburb and should not be a safe haven for large, tick-harboring wildlife.

I would encourage the city to follow the lead of adjacent suburbs to enact a permanent and effective annual deer hunt.

Gabriel Komjathy, Roseville
