Guardian Angels fish fry

Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 Fourth St. N., Oakdale, will host all-you-can-eat fish fries on Fridays, March 10, 24 and April 7, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The dinner includes fried or baked fish, cole slaw, red potatoes, mac & cheese, green beans, dessert and a beverage. Guardians Angels’ Men’s Club will be preparing the meal after being trained by John Schiltz, chef and owner of the Lake Elmo Inn. 

Pricing is as follows: $13 per person for those 13 years of age and older, $11 per person for seniors 65 and older, $7 per child ages 6 through 12, kids 5 and under are free and $11 for take-out dinners. For more information call 651-738-2223 or go to www.guardian-angels.org.

 

 DFL East Metro Senior Caucus

The DFL East Metro Senior Caucus is Thursday, March 9 at 11:30 a.m at Sgt. Pepper’s Bar and Grill, 930 Helena Ave. N., Oakdale. Lunch is on your own and there will be a free door prize drawing. Peter Orput, JD – Washington County Attorney will speak about interesting Washington County cases.

 

Curious Critters Club 

The Curious Critters Club will take place on select Fridays, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Oakdale Discovery Center, 4444 Hadley Ave. N. The Discovery Center offers a wide variety of fun and educational nature programs for children ages 3 through 6 on Fridays throughout the year. Children participate in discussions, play games, watch DVDs and create projects for each themed program. Critters Club kids like to go outside, so please dress for the weather! Oakdale support group for families 

NMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living with a mental illness. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. A family support group meets in Oakdale on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Canvas Health, 7066 Stillwater Boulevard., in the community room.  For information, call Dan at 651-341-8918.
