Roseville resident and area Meals on Wheels recipient Helen Mader turned 100 years old Jan. 12. She and her husband built their home in Roseville in 1952. On the occasion of her centenary, asked how she felt, Mader said, “I feel like a younger person. I don t feel any older. If my knees were better I would run right out of the door!” According to Meals on Wheels coordinator Tara Garvin, Mader’s greatest attribute is her personality, and she is so adored by Meals on Wheels volunteers that her home is usually the last one on the route so volunteers can spend extra time with her. Mader’s sash reads, “Helen the Queen of Meals on Wheels.”
