Hygiene kits

Messiah Lutheran Church in Mounds View is holding an event  —  for which volunteers are still needed  —  Jan. 21. The community is invited out to the church at 2848 County Road H2, from 1-5 p.m. that day, to put together hygiene kits for girls in Africa. Iceskate with council member Strub

New Brighton City Council Member Brian Strub is holding his annual “Skate With Your City Council Member” public meetings on Jan. 20 at the Hansen Park ice rink from 7-8 p.m., on Jan. 30 at the Freedom Park ice rink from 6-7 p.m. and Feb. 2 at the Sunny Square Park ice rink from 6-7 p.m. Any resident or citizen looking to share ideas, comments or suggestions for the City of New Brighton can join Strub. He asks you to bring your ideas, ice skates, pucks, sticks or the entire family. Interested citizens not able to participate can share their ideas and suggestions by contacting Strub via email at brian.strub@newbrightonmn.gov or on his Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Strub4NewBrighton.

 

Bonfire in New Brighton

The city of New Brighton will be hosting a bonfire event Jan. 28 from 6-8:30 p.m. It’s set to take place at Freedom Park and Girl Scouts will help plan and organize the event. There will be a food drive, s’mores, ice skating, winter sports demonstrations, sledding, and more. In addition, those able and interested can bring a donation to the Ralph Reeder food shelf and it can be dropped off at the event.

 

Volunteer to visit

Folks are invited to help children in foster care, and their families, maintain or rebuild relationships through supervised visits. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old. Bethel University Johnson Gallery displays student exhibitions

Folks are invited to view three exhibitions that are conceptualized, produced and created by students in Bethel’s Department of Art and Design. Visitors will be able to find these exhibitions in Bethel’s Johnson Gallery on Level 2 of the Clauson Center on Bethel’s campus at 3900 Bethel Drive. The exhibit dates and reception times are listed below:
