Fall Round-Up parade rained out

North St. Paul’s Fall Round-Up parade planned for Sept. 15 was canceled only a couple short hours before the event. The cancelation was due to a heavy rain that had started in the afternoon and severe weather conditions that were expected to continue through the evening.

“That was a heartbreaker,” said Elizabeth Kolbeck, parade organizer.

She added that unfortunately there was no way to reschedule the parade and the only thing to do was hope for better weather in 2017.

According to Kolbeck, organizers agreed to ask civic leader Paul Anderson to be grand marshal in next year’s parade.

“He definitely needs to ride down that parade route in the Model T and have his day in the parade,” she said, though she added that it might be difficult to convince the humble Anderson to accept the honor again.
