Arbor Day celebrations!

Council members, including Kristen Cici, joined in with others at Oakdale’s 41st annual Arbor Day Tree Give Away at Richard Walton Park April 30. In memory, Pete Graske’s retired #1 started the event as the city gave out 200 large bare root and container trees- Evans Bali Cherry, Red Maple, White Pine and Amur Chokecherry, for residents to plant for generations to enjoy.

The first of 250 Lake Elmo residents arrive to pick out two trees each at city hall in honor of Arbor Day. White Pine, Red Oak, Sugar Maple, Wild Plum and Burr Oak were available.

The Lake Elmo Environmental Committee planted a Sugar Maple at City Hall April 30 in honor of Arbor Day. The group is working to re-establish the city’s “Tree City USA” status.
