Living day by day

We live one day at a time. Every day as we read the daily paper, we likely read some new news. One day last week several articles on the front page of the newspaper caught my attention. Some were a repeat of past days; others were new to me. All or at least much of life is that way. We certainly do not know what April will bring. Everyday is like that.

It is great to know that God, our Heavenly Father experiences no unexpected surprises. Many people seem to be filled with anxiety about the future these days. It is great to leave it all in His care and trust Him. There is an old hymn that says, “I know not what the future holds, but I know who holds the futures.” If we place ourselves in His hands we can relax, love and obey Him. We are so blessed to have His Word available to us. If I don’t have a copy of His Word in my pocket, I don’t’ feel fully dressed.

His Word tells us to meditate on His Word all the time. Another verse tells us to pray without ceasing and be thankful in all things. Sometimes it is easier to say than to do. In short, let’s try to pray, love and be thankful every day. We have such a loving and caring God. Let’s try to follow in His footsteps. Have a good month.
