Ok, let it snow

It was the big one Feb. 2 — or at least a big one, for a relatively mild winter during which not a lot of snow has fallen in the Twin Cities. The National Weather Service reports 9.2 inches of snow fell at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in a 24-hour time period, topping the previous Groundhog’s Day record set in 1983 at the airport by 0.4 inches. Like the rest of the metro, The Roseville OVAL was hit, though by about 9 a.m. Feb. 3, much of the OVAL’s ice sheet was nearly cleared and area roads were in pretty good condition. Roseville resident Matt Becker posted to Twitter an unofficial snow depth reading, with photographic proof: @matthewbecker tweeted, “Ten inches here in @RosevilleMN.” (courtesy of Matt Becker)
