The Roseville Area High School girls hockey team plays in Section 4AA, which held its quarterfinals last weekend. The four surviving teams advance to the semifinals on Feb. 9 at Aldrich Arena.

Roseville drew the fourth seed and faced fifth-seeded Stillwater at home on Feb. 5.

All four quarterfinal games were played past the deadline for this edition of the Review.

The Roseville/Stillwater winner earns the right to face either top-seeded Hill-Murray or eighth-seeded Woodbury at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Hill-Murray entered the post-season without a loss and Woodbury won just twice all season so the odds of Woodbury advancing are slim.

Roseville and Stillwater met twice during the regular season and the Raiders won both contests. Roseville took game one 4-3 on Dec. 9 and game two 3-1 on Jan. 19. Seniors Corrina Pierson and Allyson Reilly had a lot to do with both victories. Pierson made 43 saves in the first game and 28 in the second. Reilly recorded five points in the two games with two goals in game one and three assists in game two. Junior Madison Gaffney added a pair of goals in game two.

The other half of the Section 4AA bracket pitted second-seeded White Bear Lake against seventh-seeded Irondale and third-seeded Mounds View against sixth-seeded North/Tartan in the quarterfinals. The winners of those two games meet in the other semifinal on Tuesday.

The Section 4AA championship game is Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Roseville Arena.
