Assault

An Oakdale police officer was alerted to a large fight while on foot patrol, the evening of June 26, on the west side of Walton Park. A woman at the scene told the officer she had been unintentionally maced by her friend “Tay Tay” during the altercation. She reported being hit by an unidentified black man with a short Afro and lean build, approximately 18 years old, who was wearing a blue sweatshirt. A witness told the officer the man fled on foot to the west, but the suspect was not located.

Chickens on the loose

It probably wasn’t listed in the job description, but police officers responded to a complaint about some chickens running around an Oakdale neighborhood June 25. There was no answer at the door when they rung the doorbell at the home where the chickens were being kept in the1600 block of Gershwin Avenue early that morning. Officers left a written warning for the homeowner to display a required permit to keep the chickens in the back yard. Police managed to corral the nine runaway chickens back into their coop before leaving.
