Two sleepy people in Falcon Heights

Arrests, Thefts and more around Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, and Roseville - Roseville Review police reports July 7, 2015.

Falcon Heights

“Two sleepy people”

It’s the title of a tune written by Hoagy Carmichael but it also describes the pair found asleep on a porch June 20 in the 1500 block of Larpenteur Avenue. A 46-year-old woman initially tried to pass herself off as her sister to hide the fact that she was wanted on a Hennepin County warrant for her arrest for assault. That didn’t work, she was booked and also charged with gross-misdemeanor false information to police. A 12-year-old lad was placed with Hennepin County Child Protection.

Theft

The old saw “Bad news comes in threes,” is rather negative but certainly true in the case of the trio that walked into the liquor store June 20 in the 1500 block of Larpenteur Avenue. The thieves walked out with seven bottles of spirits valued at $231. An investigation continues.

Lauderdale

Theft

Five garages behind an apartment complex were broken into the night of June 16. Only one tenant suffered a loss. Her two bicycles, valued at $100 and $50, were stolen.

Off on the wrong foot

Recently qualifying for an instructional permit, an 18-year-old driver got off on the wrong foot June 20 when he was pulled over at Larpenteur Avenue and Fulham Street for speeding and then compounded his situation presenting a fake insurance card. A court date awaits.

Ramsey County

Scam alert

Several area residents reported receiving calls in late June asking for money to settle an outstanding arrest warrant. If you received such a call, hang up and call 911. Government agencies do not use the phone to ask for money, says the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office. However, if you feel there may be an active warrant issued for your arrest, go online and use the Warrant Search function on the www.ramseycountysheriff.us website. Information about warrants and how to resolve them is available there.

Little Canada

Peace reigned throughout the land last week with no reports of stealing, fighting, excessive drinking or off-road driving that would interest our readers.
