Archery for women on deck at Lake Elmo Park Reserve

Join expert archer Dana Keller for women’s introduction to archery lessons in partnership with Washington County Parks at Lake Elmo Park Reserve’s outdoor archery range this summer.

A free demonstration for all will take place 10 a.m. to noon June 6 for Explore Your Parks Day.

Women’s-only lessons will follow 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays June 11, 18, and 25.

Participants will learn the basics of shooting archery, safety, technique and form, and then fine-tune their skills by learning how to score a spot target.

The lessons are suitable for beginners and open to those 8 years of age and older; an adult must accompany minors. A1 Archery of Hudson, Wis. will provide all equipment and instruction.

The demonstration on Explore Your Parks Day is free and open to all guests; no vehicle permit or registration is required this day in Washington County Parks.

The women’s-only lessons are $20 per person and require registration and a parks vehicle permit ($5/day or $25/annual). Space is limited; contact the Lake Elmo Park Reserve at 651-430-8370 to register and for more information about this program. This program meets at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve – Archery Range.

Lake Elmo Park Reserve is at the intersection of County Road 19 and County Road 10 (one mile north of Interstate 94) in Lake Elmo.
