Driver robbed at knifepoint in Little Canada

Arrests, Thefts and more around Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, and Roseville - Roseville Review police reports May 12, 2015.

Falcon Heights

Arrests
It is possible, we suppose, to forget to change your address on your driver's license, forget to renew your automobile registration and to forget to carry proof of insurance, but to display suspended plates, and drive with a revoked license? The 32-year-old man was arrested at Larpenteur Avenue and Arona Street April 20 and charged with the five offenses.

The cracked, "pull-me-over" windshield was the reason for the stop, which also led to the 27-year-old woman's arrest for driving after license suspension and no proof of insurance April 20 at Larpenteur Avenue and Arona Street.

A 37-year-old man was arrested April 25 in the 1400 block of Idaho Avenue and charged with possession of a gram of methamphetamine, or roughly $120 worth. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail on a felony drug possession charge.

Lauderdale

Arrests
That sure wasn't a valid driver's license hanging from the 39-year-old man's rearview mirror, because his driver's license had been suspended. But whatever was hanging there, it was enough for a second offense added to the 39-year-old man's citation April 24 at Como Avenue and 33 Avenue S.E.

It makes sense to put a hold on your insurance if your driver's license is suspended, but then you aren't supposed to be driving. Actually, that added a pair of offenses to the 52-year-old man's citation April 25 also at Como Avenue and 33rd Avenue S.E. — for driving after license suspension and no proof of insurance.

Two windshield problems contributed to the 20-year-old man's four-offense day April 26 after he was written up at Larpenteur Avenue and Hwy. 280 for speed and no insurance. His windshield was both cracked and obstructed.

Little Canada

Movin' on up
While moving to an upstairs apartment May 3, probably a good idea for those on the ground floor of the complex in the 300 block of Labore Road, the tenant had one box left to go when she saw the torn window screen and a "white guy with a black eye" crouched over it, eying the items in the box. The 30-something, five-foot-ten-inch man, wearing a navy blue T-shirt, khaki shorts, and carrying a duffel bag, left the scene in a hurry.

Street robbery
A man stopped by the side of the County Road C at I-35E the evening of April 29 to look at his phone. He was so engrossed in an incoming text, he didn't notice the two black guys, later briefly described as 30-35 years old and both wearing red-and-blue ball caps. One of the fellows, with dreadlock-style hair, held a knife to the victim's throat and demanded the phone. The robber removed the SIM card, threw it into the vehicle, and then demanded the driver's wallet, which contained $120 according to the victim, and punched him twice in the head before the pair fled the scene on foot. The victim called 911 and told deputies that he was 34, that he was from Richfield, that the phone was valued at $800 and that the '97 Honda Prelude he was driving was not his.
