Inept Carl Street burglar arrested in Lauderdale

Arrests, Thefts and more around Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, and Roseville - Roseville Review police reports April 21, 2015.

Falcon Heights

No joke, just a fool
Police stopped a vehicle for running a stop sign on April Fools’ day and arrested a 25-year-old woman for pot possession, no insurance and the stop sign violation.

Theft
A mountain bike, stolen from an open garage in the 2200 block of Folwell Avenue on April 1 apparently by the inept Carl Street burglar (see Lauderdale police reports) was recovered at the scene of another burglary.

What are the odds?
A 55-year-old woman was arrested April 2 at Larpenteur and Snelling avenues for no proof of insurance, failing to transfer motor vehicle title and expired tabs.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested April 2 at Roselawn and Snelling avenues for no proof of insurance, failing to transfer motor vehicle title and expired tabs.

Lauderdale

Arrest
Maybe running the red light saved her from a rear-end collision since her brake lights didn’t work. In any case the 30-year-old was arrested April 2 at Larpenteur Avenue and Eustis Street for running the light, driving after license revocation and the equipment violation.

What’s that noise?
A sharp-eared, Carl Street senior was awakened April 1 by the sound of her liquor cabinet door opening. The 78-year-old called 911, and the burglar, still not quite believing his good fortune, was found by police hanging around the scene of the crime holding the liquor and a small amount of cash. The 18-year-old man was booked at the jail on a felony burglary charge.

Earlier, the Carl Street burglar had entered a rental property on his favorite street through a basement window, also on April Fools’ Day. No loss was found.

Little Canada

Arrests
An ex-boyfriend with a harassment restraining order against him was arrested April 10 for repeatedly text bombing his ex-girlfriend. The 44-year-old from North St. Paul is also suspected of damaging the victim’s car in the lot of a nearby bingo hall. An investigation continues.

Two women out of St. Paul who broke into a house in the 2900 block of Arcade Street to retrieve a cell phone recently were charged with felony burglary. The older of the pair, age 27, was charged with possession of methamphetamine as well. She was also wanted on a Maplewood warrant for her arrest for failure to appear in court. The second woman, age 26, was booked on several Hennepin County misdemeanor warrants for her arrest.

Looking for a treat?
A brown and white male pit bull found hanging around the doorway of Evolution Pet Foods in Maplewood was returned to his owner in Little Canada.

“You’ve ruined my life”
A non-resident at a trailer park in the 2400 block of Rice Street was found sleeping in his vehicle April 14. A deputy smelled pot and an inventory of the car revealed a whopping 2.8 grams of the evil weed divided into a half-dozen baggies, a scale and three pipes. The 31-year-old was booked at the jail for possession of a controlled substance. “You’ve ruined my life,” the suspect told the arresting deputy.
