“No pizza for you”

Arrests, Thefts and more around Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, and Roseville - Roseville Review police reports Feb 24, 2015.

Falcon Heights

Arrests
Hospital staff reported signs of possible child abuse of an eight-year-old girl on Feb. 8. The girl and her three-year-old brother were interviewed and placed into protective custody. Mom, age 30, was located and arrested on felony charges of first-degree assault and domestic assault by strangulation. An investigation continues.

Arrested Feb. 4 in the 1800 block of Fairview Avenue, a 26-year-old woman was charged with speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle: not a good combination.

See you in court
When the 28-year-old man was stopped Feb. 4 at Fairview and Larpenteur avenues, he had no license, no insurance, an equipment violation and expired registration. He also had failed to transfer the title on his vehicle. A court date awaits.

Lauderdale

Arrests
A 21-year-old female was arrested at Larpenteur Avenue and Eustis Street Feb. 4 for no DL, no proof of insurance and driving a vehicle not up to standards.

If she had taken the driver’s license exam, she would have been told you can’t have stuff hanging from your rearview mirror. The 33-year-old was arrested Feb. 4 at Larpenteur Avenue and Fulham Street for driving without a valid license and an obstructed windshield.

Inept robber
The would-be robber brandished a knife at the convenience store clerk in the 2400 block of Larpenteur Avenue Feb. 8, but it didn’t impress the clerk. The bad boy then implied he had a gun and the clerk pushed the holdup alarm before making tracks. The inept man, now alone with the register, was unable to open it and ran away.

Little Canada

Arrest
An out-of-control youth was arrested Feb. 11 after creating a disturbance in the Capitol View Area Learning Center on County Road B2. The 17-year-old Columbia Heights boy was charged with throwing fire extinguishers and desks, spitting on the floor in the lunch line and other disruptive activity. He also threw a trash can at a school social worker, striking her in the knee. The woman was treated in the nurse’s office for bruises and swelling. The teen was cuffed and transported to the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of gross-misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct.

“No pizza for you”
Being refused alcohol at a bar isn’t that unusual—No ID, or appearing inebriated are the most common reasons. But being refused pizza? Actually, there was a good reason for it. The “customer” is known in the neighborhood for not paying his tab. When the 46-year-old White Bear Lake man ordered the pizza at the Little Canada Road bowling alley, the bartender told him to hit the road, sticking the bartender with his small, $8 tab that he refused to settle. Next the frequent abuser went to an Arden Hills steakhouse, where he ran up a tab of $24 at the bar. When he wouldn’t pay up, employees called 911. The suspect, who said he had no money and “preferred to go to detox,” was booked at the jail on a charge of “misdemeanor theft of services.”
