Lunchroom scuffle in Little Canada

Arrests, Thefts and more around Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, and Roseville - Roseville Review police reports Feb 17, 2015.

Falcon Heights

Arrest
A 41-year-old man found hiding behind an illegal window tint Feb. 1 at Como and Snelling avenues was also arrested for failing to obtain a Minnesota driver’s license within 60 days of residency.

Stolen vehicle
Officers stopped a vehicle Jan. 28 for a traffic violation at Snelling and Nebraska avenues and the driver got out and ran away. That seemed suspicious and the vehicle was impounded. It was later reported by its owner as stolen. An investigation continues.

Lauderdale

Arrests
A 25-year-old man was arrested Jan. 31 at Hwy. 280 and Broadway Street N.E. for driving without a license and insurance to match.

Nine males and two females were arrested in the city the week of Jan. 26 for driving with licenses that were either suspended, revoked, cancelled or never issued in the first place.

Street robbery
A young woman walking home in the 2400 block of Larpenteur Avenue Jan. 28 was grabbed from behind, thrown to the ground and relieved of her purse. The 21-year-old reported the loss of her phone, keys and credit cards. A suspect was described but not located. The loss was estimated at $550.

Little Canada

Arrests
When a deputy spotted a “darked out” vehicle slowly moving through the area of Edgerton Street and Little Canada Road about 1 a.m. Feb. 10, he pulled it over. A 42-year-old woman with no permanent address behind the wheel was cited for driving with an expired driver’s license and failure to provide proof of insurance. None of the other collection of folks in the ‘94 Dodge Dakota had a valid DL, so the pickup was towed to the impound lot.

It started as they got off the bus, and it was still going in the Capitol View Alternative Learning Center lunchroom at noon Feb. 3. Yelling, screaming and chasing each other in and out of the lunch line, one 12-year-old girl hit another 12-year-old girl with a belt. The belt-armed preteen from Columbia Heights was arrested on misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges and booked into the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center.

Good Lord

Fists flew Feb. 4 when the old “clean your room” argument at the apartment deteriorated into a slugfest. The 13-year-old hit mom in the face, breaking her glasses, then “threatened to kill me,” Mom said. “Help!” the juvenile yelled to her 15-year-old sister, “Let’s kick mom’s ass!” Sis joined the fray, but Mom was able to get off a call to 911 and both teens were soon on their way to the JDC on charges of fifth-degree assault, domestic assault and disorderly conduct.
