The North Suburban Soccer Association’s U17 C1 boys team brought home a state championship last month. The team is made up of players from Irondale, Mounds View, Roseville Area and Centennial high schools and won the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association title with a 1-0 victory over a team from Duluth on July 26. They reached the championship game by beating Tonka United 1-0 in the semifinals. In addition to the state championship, the team won two other tournaments and took second place in the Gold Division of the USA Cup at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Most of the players on the team also played together last summer and won the U16 C2 state title.
