Arrest
A 30-year-old man hiding behind an illegal window tint May 24 was pulled over at Larpenteur and Snelling avenues and also arrested for driving with a suspended license and no insurance.

Home invasions
A 25-year-old woman in the 1500 block of Larpenteur Avenue reported that someone managed to open the locked door to her apartment May 23. The startled tenant was able to hang onto the knob, keeping the door closed until the would-be intruders left the scene. A few days earlier, a 33-year-old had a similar experience, also keeping the prowlers at bay. But on May 22, a tenant woke up to find someone in her apartment. The 27-year-old woman yelled, and the intruder fled empty-handed.

Burglars did manage to get away with an Xbox gaming system, laptop computer and an iPod May 20 from an apartment in the same building in the 1500 block of Larpenteur Avenue. There were no signs of forced entry.

Another apartment in the building was burgled on May 22. The door was locked, but intruders got in and carried off an Xbox gaming system, a tablet, a couple of games and even a sensor camera. The total loss was estimated at $1,365.

Lauderdale

Arrest
A 22-year-old man who thought he could keep his suspended license a secret by failing to display license plates was stopped May 20 at Larpenteur Avenue and Hwy. 280 and cited for no license plates and driving with a suspended license.

Fleeing police
Tire-squealing alerted police to another 22-year-old man who panicked when he saw the squad car. He was chased down, collared at Hwy. 280 and Broadway Street N.E. May 25 and charged with felony fleeing police and felony obstructing the legal process. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

Theft
A truck, already at the shop for repairs, was broken into May 20, suffering the loss of a light bar, dolly tires and a portable tow light. The total loss, including damage to the door, was estimated at $5,600.
