Here to tell your stories
Although my title is now news editor, I’m really a reporter at heart.
I started out at Lillie Suburban Newspapers as a staff writer last fall, covering North St. Paul, Maplewood and Lake Elmo. A couple of weeks ago, I was given a promotion, and started receiving a lot more emails and phone calls to sift through.
That’s because I’m the person South-West Review readers should contact about news items, story ideas or just something interesting they’ve seen or heard around town.
I also take care of the various blurbs that end up in the paper, so don’t be shy about sending over press releases, event announcements or letters to the editor. Just be sure to get them to me as soon as possible, so I can run the information when there’s room.
Best of all, I still get to be a reporter, tracking down stories and talking to fascinating people.
Now, a little bit about me:
I grew up in Hastings, where I danced, sang and “acted” in show choir, choir and theater throughout high school. Of course, I loved my English and writing classes.
I attended the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, during which I pursued every internship and reporting opportunity I could fit into my schedule.
I was busy, slinging lattes, attending classes full-time and working multiple internships, but I loved it. Plus, I gained some amazing mentors who made possible some amazing opportunities.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in professional journalism and a minor in Spanish.
I’ve had work published in the Star Tribune, Super Lawyers magazine and the St. Cloud Times.
Before Lillie News, I was a staff reporter at the Northfield News and the Lonsdale Area News-Review.
As a member of the South-West Review team — and no stranger to its coverage area — I am excited to continue to learn about northern Dakota County.
I want to tell your stories and look into things for you.

Oh, and don’t worry; police reports are back.
