Arrest
Living life to its fullest, a 28-year-old man was arrested April 17 at Snelling and Larpenteur avenues and charged with felony possession of a fifth-degree controlled substance, gross-misdemeanor false information to police and obstruction of the legal process. Evidence was seized and he was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

Criminal damage to property
A prowler, apparently feeling entitled to something of value in an unlocked vehicle, slashed a tire before fleeing the scene nearly empty-handed in the 1300 block of Idaho Avenue. A three-ring binder, of no value to anyone but the owner, was later found in the street. The tire was valued at $306.

Drama queen
Employees reported “an unwanted female” refusing to leave a convenience store in the 1600 block of Snelling Avenue April 20. When she did decide to leave, the drama queen first knocked down a shelf of items for good measure. The unwanted female was tracked down and told she has been trespassed from the business. No charges.

Pull me over
A 30-year-old man driving an unregistered vehicle with a canceled license, a single license plate and an unnamed equipment violation, was arrested April 20 at Larpenteur and Cleveland avenues.

Wow, $69.99!
A shoplifter was identified on video as the 48-year-old man who walked off April 14 with a bottle of high-priced spirits valued at $69.99, but the liquor could not be located. Later that day however, the suspect was spotted retrieving the bottle which he had hidden behind an air-conditioning unit and was now proudly showing it to a friend. The thief was cited for shoplifting and the 45-year-old friend, collared while fondling the bottle, was cited for receiving stolen property.

Lauderdale

Arrest
A 38-year-old man was arrested April 15 at Hwy. 280 and Broadway Street N.E. and charged with driving without insurance, now enhanced to a gross misdemeanor charge because he had been cited for the offense before, driving after license revocation and a warrant for his arrest for driving with a revoked license. He was jailed on the warrant.

Aha!
A vehicle was pulled over on Larpenteur and 33rd avenues for an obstructed license plate April 19. Once the plate was readable, the 33-year-old man behind the wheel was arrested for driving after license revocation.

I’ll get around to it
Settling in the state for more than 60 days without applying for a Minnesota driver’s license will get you cited and so will failing to provide proof of insurance. It happened to a 30-year-old man who was written up April 17 at Como and 33rd avenues S.E.

Theft
A window was smashed and audio equipment including a stereo, an amplifier and a speaker were stripped from a vehicle April 18 in the 1700 block of Eustis Street. The loss was estimated at $1,650.

Burglary
A couple that lives in the 2600 block of Schletty Road came home from a two-week, out-of-the-country trip April 27 to find their garage service door pried open and their home ransacked. Missing were a 55-inch Blu-ray TV, a computer, monitor and several pieces of jewelry. The Ramsey County Crime Lab processed the scene and an investigation continues. The burglary was one of a half-dozen in the area over the last weekend of April, according to an investigator.

Felony assault
A female staff member at Capitol View Alternative Learning Program in the first block of County Road B2 was hit on the head with a book, stabbed with a pencil and kicked in the ribs the morning of April 24 by a 13-year-old boy. The 25-year-old staffer was not seriously injured, and the Fridley youth was transported to the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center on a felony assault charge.

Family feud
A dust-up occurred the evening of April 23 after a 37-year-old man attempted to evict his girlfriend from his home, assisted by his dad, who lives in the basement. The girlfriend, age 31, took exception to being asked to leave and a ruckus developed in the doorway with dad in the middle. “Dad punched me in the face, grabbed me and threw me out half-naked,” she claimed. The girlfriend then bit Dad on the chest and smashed the boyfriend’s laptop computer and 32-inch TV. “She has a bad attitude,” Dad said. None of the three wanted charges filed.
