Patrick Trudgeon has stepped into his official role as the new Roseville city manager.

At its Feb. 24 meeting, the Roseville City Council unanimously approved a contract for Trudgeon, effective immediately. Trudgeon took over as interim city manager in May of last year, and the council voted in January to enter into contract negotiations with him for the permanent position.

“I’m very happy and looking forward to working in this role for many years to come and really moving Roseville forward and making it a better city,” Trudgeon said.

Prior to being appointed interim city manager, Trudgeon served as Roseville’s community development director since November 2007.

Trudgeon, 47, earned his bachelor’s degree in international relations and master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before coming to Roseville, he served for seven years as the community development director for Ramsey, Minn., the planning and development director for North Branch, Minn., as a city council member in Beloit, Wis., and as a lobbyist in Wisconsin.

Trudgeon said he’s looking forward to continuing to work with city staff, the city council and residents to keep improving city services and delivering top-notch programs. He added that he welcomes questions, comments or concerns from members of the public.

“People can feel free to reach out to me at any time,” he said.
