Valley Friendship Club Announces New “Daytimers” Activities
Valley Friendship Club is pleased to announce a new “DayTimers” activity club for adults (21 and older) who are looking to bring social connections and meaningful activities to weekdays. As VFC has grown, so has its members, so as a natural growth, we are now adding the needs of young adults to the programming.
Plans are to include a full daytime roster of consistent events/activities to lend some meaningful structure to the daily lives of young adults not able to find traditional employment or consistent activities, and in addition some concrete contribution to the community at large—depending on skill levels and particular talents or interests of group members.
The first activity is Tuesdays at the Lake Elmo Library, 3537 Lake Elmo Ave. N., from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a book and lunch get-together. A guest reader will introduce a book, and the group will then follow with a lunch (bring your own lunch)! If assistance is needed, please bring a support person as well.
Additional activities, dates and times are in the works and possibilities could include adaptive gym activities, job skills programming and growing community partnerships. For more information or to sign up, visit the Valley Friendship Club website: www.Valleyfriendshipclub.org and click on the Event tab and look for the “DayTimers” activities.
