Boys hockey: Tartan wins lopsided boys hockey battle with Sibley

Tartan 8 - Henry Sibley 0

The Tartan Titans took their potent ice hockey forces to West St. Paul Arena Saturday, Dec. 14, and displayed their prowess in a Classic Suburban Conference clash with the Henry Sibley Warriors.

The final was an 8-0 whitewash of the Warriors that pushed the highly successful Titans to an overall mark of 7-1 and 2-0 in CSC boys hockey action.

Leading the Tartan point-parade was their top line, which consists of Brady O’Sullivan, Zach Ledman and Rusty Axtman.

Axtman with six points on two goals and four assists (2-4) led the scoring. O’Sullivan (4-1) and Ledman (0-5) were right on the winger’s heels.

At the end of two periods of action, the Titans were on top 6-0. As a result, when one team leads by six goals or more in the third period, the clock was kept on “running time.”

Others gaining points in the Tartan road victory were Ryan Hartzell (1-1), Brandon Ayde (1-1), Eric Reddy (0-1), Connor O’Sullivan (0-1) and Eric Geskermann (0-1).

Next up, the Titans will return to Tartan Arena Dec. 21 to take on the St. Thomas Academy Cadets in a 3 p.m. drop of the puck.
