Burglary
• A burglar was so busy cleaning out the garage in the 1600 block of Snelling Avenue Nov. 4, he didn’t see the police coming. The 41-year-old man was jailed on a felony third-degree burglary charge but not before he apparently got away with an estimated $14,120 worth of items. An investigation continues. 

It’s over
• A St. Paul man was stopped at Larpenteur Avenue and Fry Street Nov. 6 and charged with felony first degree DWI, based on his previous record. The 52-year-old was also charged with gross-misdemeanor driving after license cancellation, open bottle, felony blood-alcohol test refusal and violation of a vehicle interlock system. The suspect was booked at the Ramsey County Jail and his vehicle was impounded for forfeiture.

Single headlights
• A 51-year-old woman was stopped Nov. 7 at Roselawn and Snelling avenues for driving with a single headlight and arrested for driving without a license.
• A 24-year-old man was stopped Nov. 8 at Snelling and Hoyt avenues for driving with a single headlight and arrested for driving after license revocation.

Who took the clarinet?
• A woman with a home for sale in the 1800 block of Tatum Street showed the property Nov. 10 to two prospects. Which prospect took the clarinet? The loss was estimated at $400.

Lauderdale

Arrests
• A 34-year-old man was arrested at Hwy. 280 and Como Avenue Nov. 4 and charged with driving without a license, no proof of insurance and speeding.
• Not to be outdone, a 22-year-old man was arrested at 33rd Avenue S.E. and Larpenteur Avenue Nov. 9 and charged with driving without a license, no proof of insurance, no insurance and speeding.

Little Canada

Arrest
• A chase that began on Rice Street in the wee hours of Nov. 8, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph, ended nearly five miles later on John Ireland Boulevard when the suspect vehicle crashed into a barrier. The driver, a 43-year-old Roseville man, was later found hiding behind the Minnesota History Center and booked at the jail on a felony fleeing police in a motor vehicle charge. The suspect admitted he attempted to get away because he “was intoxicated.” A DWI charge is pending the outcome of a blood test.

Get Shorties
• Will smoking stunt your growth? Yes, according to the Annals [sic] of Epidemiology and these two guys would probably agree with you.
They held up the convenience store in the 200 block of Little Canada Road at gunpoint the evening of Nov. 16, making off in a silver or gray Pontiac with an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes. The first suspect, labeled a “frequent customer” by the female clerk, was described as black, about 25-years-old, five feet two inches tall, and wearing a black jacket, jeans and a blue face mask. The second suspect, the one with a silver handgun, was described as possibly Hispanic, in his 20s, about five feet one inch tall and wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants and also a blue face mask.  

Knock, knock
• When two men knocked on her door in the 3000 block of Payne Avenue the afternoon of Nov. 14, the homeowner didn’t answer. When the suspects entered the house, the 27-year-old called 911. The teen males took off running but were soon arrested in the area in possession of a stolen laptop computer. The 18-year-old from Buhl, Minn. and the 19-year-old from West St. Paul were booked at the jail on felony first-degree burglary charges.
