Armed robbery
— When the two masked men arrived on foot at the station in the 200 block of Little Canada Road the evening of Oct. 27, the clerk thought it was a little early for Halloween, yet there was something familiar about the pair. And then things got serious in a hurry. One suspect pulled a black 9 mm handgun, (we know this because on the gun was printed “9 mm,”) and kept screaming at the clerk to open the register. At the same time the second man was yelling, “Shoot him!” The unarmed man then began to rifle the cigarillo rack, grabbing packs of White Cats, Phillies, Swishers and Black and Mild Jazz. And that’s when the clerk was sure these were regular customers and this guy was grabbing all his favorite cigarillos that he usually stopped in and purchased.
The pair finally left with just quarters from the register and pockets filled with the flavored smokes.
The first man, with the gun, was described as Asian, 19-26-years-old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 inches tall and 140 pounds; the second man was described as black, 20-25 years old, 5-foot-10 inches tall and 160 pounds. An investigation continues.

Burglary
— Deputies responded to an alarm at a thrift store Oct. 29, finding an overturned shopping cart and a hole kicked in the entryway sheetrock. The owner arrived at the store in the 3200 block of Country Drive and found the office ransacked, a desk broken and the safe missing. A surveillance video showed one of two men kicking the safe loose. It had been bolted to the floor under the desk. The suspects were not immediately recognizable but a former employee, recently terminated, did know the location of the safe, the owner said. A list of the safe’s contents was not released. An investigation continues.
