Letter: Simley student asks for ‘yes’ vote

To the editor:

Did you know the track at Simley High School is so unsafe it has been banned from use by the Classic Suburban Conference? It has holes so deep they can’t be patched anymore.

The track is just one of the safety and health concerns at Simley that students like me see firsthand every day. There are leaky roofs and windows that waste energy. Entrances aren’t secure and create safety concerns. The school, which was built over 50 years ago, simply needs some overdue fixes.

We aren’t old enough to vote and we don’t pay taxes yet, so we are asking those who do to please consider voting on Nov. 5 to fix our schools.

Sincerely,
Paul Wagner
Junior at Simley and co-chair of Students for Better Schools
