Roseville volleyball headed back to state's picture

The Roseville Area High School volleyball team is headed back to the state tournament. The Raiders wrapped up their second consecutive Section 4AAA championship with a three-set victory over North St. Paul on Thursday night at Washington Technology Magnet School in St. Paul.

Roseville, the No. 2 seed in the section, took down the top-seeded Polars 26-24, 25-21, 25-23.

All three sets were nail-biters as the largest lead held by either team was five points. The Raiders trailed 9-4 in game one before rallying, never trailed in game two with its largest lead coming at 15-10 and held a four-point lead at 21-17 in game three.

The victory gives Roseville its fourth trip to the state tournament, which runs Nov. 7-9 at Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul. The seeds and schedule for the tournament will be determined on Sunday.
