Letter: ‘Did not vote on this subject’

To the editor:

Last week the Review featured an article about the Maplewood City election.  Each candidate was asked to answer questions and to say what she feels qualifies her for this elected office.
Diana Longrie stated that she had been “voted one of Maplewood’s most notable women by the Maplewood Historical Society.”

I would like to clarify a few points.

The Maplewood Area Historical Society did not vote on this subject.

A small Committee of members plans two Tea’s a year.  We have a theme and for this one it was decided the theme should be notable women of Maplewood.

We invited several guests to come to this Tea, one was Diana Longrie,  because she was the first Woman Mayor of Maplewood and was not due to anything she did as mayor.

Past President Maplewood Area Historical Society
