Join in a new  Roseville holiday tradition  - the first annual Ovalumination lighting event - to mark the Guidant John Rose Oval’s 20th anniversary. Hundreds of trees will be illuminated around the OVAL from early November to Jan. 31, and will be free for all to view.
Individuals, community groups and local businesses are invited to chose  a 12-, 20- or 30- foot arborvitae or evergreen from over 300 surrounding the Oval and sponsor the LED lights that will illuminate it during the holidays.

“Anyone who loves the Christmas holidays and loves lights can participate, “ says Julie Wearn, CEO of the Roseville Visitors Association. “We already have three families that are buying $85 to $100 trees. They will have a sign on their tree with their name on it and a link to their family  or Facebook page to share holiday memories with family and friends out of town, and over 65 trees have been sold to companies.”

McCaren Designs, Inc. will supply the lights, decorate the trees and take down and store the lights for next year. Sponsors simply choose their light color scheme and, if they wish, Christmas ornaments.

Sponsors, whether families, community organizations and businesses, will have a tree photo on the OVALumination Facebook page with a live link to their own site, and their logo/name will rotate on the OVAL video board. They will also be part of an extensive social media campaign that includes tweets, a Pinterest page, a contest for most popular tree, Instagram photo contest and ever popular Ragstock Ugly Christmas Sweater photo.

By popular vote, trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place.

Complete 12-foot arborvitae tree packages start at $85 and include 2 OVAL skating passes. Twenty-foot evergreen packages start at $380 and 30-foot evergreen packages start at $565 with additional skating passes.

“The event is fun for families and offers great exposure for businesses,” Wearn adds.
